Summary types
Note
This feature is only available if the Summary Invoice interface is enabled.
Summary types define how to summarize invoices based on your operations and customer preferences. You may need several summary types to satisfy a variety of customer billing agreements.
Create a summary type
- In the Navigation pane, highlight the Accounts Receivable > Setup > Summary Types folder.
- Click
. The New Summary Type window opens.
- Enter a unique Code for the summary type. You can use up to 30 characters.
- Enter a Description of the summary type.
-
In the Invoice Scheme field, select the invoice scheme to use for numbering summary invoices of this type.
Tip
To avoid confusion, use different invoice schemes for summary invoices and transaction invoices.
- In the Customer Option field, select which customer to summarize transactions for. Your options are:
- Invoice Customer. Summarize transactions for each invoice customer.
- Payment Customer. Summarize transactions for each payment customer.
- None. Select this option when combined billing is needed across payment customers. This option is rarely used.
