Active Links
In the past, a few controls in edit windows supported the Active Links feature. The Active Link feature provides the following behavior:
- Active links are underlined.
- When the Ctrl key is pressed, the active link turns blue and the mouse cursor changes to a hand pointer.
- Pressing Ctrl+Click executes the associated hyperlink action:
- Email link - opens email client and starts the email editor
- SIP link - initiates a chat message
- Web link - opens the website in the default browser
Now the Active Link feature has been expanded to more places. The affected windows are:
- ActivityHD System
- Company
- Authorized User
- Bank Reconciliation
- Contact
- Accounts Payable
- Locations
- Sales and Service
- Personnel
- Payroll
- Employee
- Export Employer
- Export Submitter
- Purchasing
- Operator

Custom Fields
[select an entity folder] > [right-click] > Custom Fields
A number of improvements have been introduced on custom fields:
- The length of the Name field has been expanded from 20 to 30 characters.
- Groups have been enhanced with the ability to designate order, a hint, an instruction, and help text.
Instructions appear as a block of text below the group on which they are defined.
- A data type of "Date Time" has been added.
- A data type of "Dropdown" has been added. This data type requires users to choose items from a predefined drop-down list. When you select the "Dropdown" option, a Dropdown List field is added to allow you to define the list of dropdown items.
- A data type of "Email Address" has been added. When a user presses Ctrl+Click on the value in a custom field of this type, the user's email client opens ready for the user to begin an email message.
- The "Internet Address" data type now accepts Ctrl+Click input to open the user's internet browser.
- When the data type "Number" is selected, the Scale value of 0 now supports values in the trillions.
- The Reference field associated with a data type of "Reference", now has a more appropriate width.
- The data type "Text" now supports an optional drop-down list from which users can select a value or enter a value.
- An Instruction field has been added for custom fields.
Instructions appear as a block of text below the field on which they are defined.
- Content from the Help Text field now displays in a single popup for all groups and fields for which help text is defined on the custom field.
- The Check field on the Advanced tab now has unlimited length and improved SQL syntax editing.
-
Custom fields
In the past, pressing F1 while on an entity record's Custom tab did not open the customized help text for the entity's custom fields as it should have. Now it does.
-
Custom fields
In the past, an access violation could occur when trying to access the view tab for an "Exchange Folder" custom field.
The access violation no longer occurs.
-
Custom fields
Two options have been introduced to the Change action for custom fields of "File" data type. The new options are "Copy to Attachments" and "Move to Attachments".
-
Dashboard
In the past, an issue occurred in the "New" dashboard where the Tags menu and other popups could have content that was not visible because it was displaying off the screen. The easiest way to reproduce the problem was to click the + action to open the Gadgets dialog, then select the Tags tab, and, finally, select the name of a tag to open a drop-down menu.
The issue has been resolved and some inconsistent button styling was fixed as well.
-
Dashboard
Additional checks and improved error handling have been introduced to ensure that the dashboard is more resilient when badly formatted or defective gadgets are encountered.
-
Database maintenance
The ActivityHD System and Company servers run a stored procedure that keeps the databases running efficiently by checking the condition of the indexes which are used to locate data in the database tables. Typically, this procedure is run once per hour in a limited state to update the indexes which exhibit the greatest degree of fragmentation. If the procedure determines that the indexes on a table need to be rebuilt, the rebuild process can be resource-intensive on the database server and requires a lock on the table.
Now if the Limited parameter is not set, database maintenance defers the database rebuild until the procedure is run once a day.
-
Form Options|View Options
In the past, selecting options in the Form Options and View Options dialogs by using arrow keys or by typing option values did not behave well.
These problems have been resolved.
-
Previous/Next record navigation
In the past, navigating through records using the Previous and Next buttons could be confusing since the window could sometimes try to go into "Edit" mode. Now "Edit" mode is only attempted when the user is already in "Edit" mode.
-
Show Answers
Formerly, an inaccurate "This feature is under development" warning was shown on the Show Answers popup for Bot Options and other Options dialogs.
The issue has been addressed.

Pay Grades
Payroll/Human Resources > Setup > Position Pay Grades
Prior to this release, violations of pay grade minimums and maximums produced errors and prevented further data entry. Now warnings are returned during data entry and errors only occur if a violation is encountered during check calculation.
In addition, in the past, pay grade violations were reported for terminated employees and inactive positions. Now validation of pay grades considers employment status dates, employee position begin/end dates, employee pay rate dates, and position pay rate dates to determine the actual dates that a rate is in effect. The resulting effective dates are reported in warnings and errors.
Pay Grades
Now a change to the minimum or maximum amount that violates the existing pay grade range results in a warning similar to the following:
The Position "Clerk" Pay Rate of 230.00 for Unit of Pay "Hourly" in effect between 4/30/2017 and 12/31/2999 is outside the range specified for this Pay Grade for this date range.
Allowed range between 12/2/2008 and 12/31/2999 is 30.00 - 45.00
If multiple positions or units of pay are affected, all are included in the warning.
Positions
Also, a change to the position pay rate that violates the pay grade range minimum or maximum results in a warning similar to this:
The Position Pay Rate of 500.00 for Unit of Pay "Hourly" in effect between 4/30/2017 and 12/31/2999 is outside the range specified for this Position's Pay Grade for this date range.
Allowed range between 12/2/2008 and 12/31/2999 is 30.00 - 45.00
If multiple units of pay result in a violation, all are reported in the warning.
Employees
Finally, if the employee record is modified in any way (employee status, position begin/end date, employee pay rate date or amount) so that the pay grade is violated, a warning similar to this is returned:
The "Clerk" Position "Hourly" Pay Rate of 3,000.00 in effect between 9/15/2025 and 12/31/2999 from the [Employee or Position] is outside the range specified for this Position's Pay Grade for this date range.
Allowed range: 30.00 - 45.00
Check Calculation
If the situation that resulted in these warnings is not corrected and the check calculation results in a violation, an error similar to the following results:
Error evaluating Pay.Clerk Result:
For employee 00003 (John W. Smith), the calculated "Clerk" Position "Hourly" Pay Rate of 1,000.0000 in effect between September 15, 2025 and December 31, 2999 from the [Employee or Position] is outside the range specified for this Position's Pay Grade for this date range.
Range: 30.0000 - 45.0000
