Note
To run a report which uses an ActivReporter image, you must have "Data" access to Images.
Recommendations for logo images
- Use the PNG file format.
- Give your images a white background. (Crystal Reports does not support transparency in PNG files.)
- For best results, capture images with a resolution of 300 dpi.
Create a new image file
- In the Navigation pane, highlight the Administration > Setup > Images folder.
-
Click
. The New Image window opens.
- In File Explorer, browse to the folder which contains the image you want to add to ActivReporter.
-
Select the image file and drag and drop it onto the area indicated in the New Image window.
Alternatively, you can click in the area indicated to open the Save Image dialog box, browse to the location where the image is saved, select the image, and click Save.
Notice that the Name and File Type fields are filled for you from the file name and file extension of the source image.
- Save the new image file.
Use an image in a Crystal Report design
- Using the graphics tools at your disposal, create a placeholder image with the following specifications:
- Image color: white
- File type: PNG
- Size: The size of the placeholder image in inches should match the logo image size. Having the placeholder the same size as the logo image makes it easier to position other report elements around the image.
- Run Crystal Reports and open the report design in which you want to insert the image.
- From the menu, select Insert > Picture.
- Select the image and click OK.
- Position the graphic in the location where you want it to display when the report is run. To do so:
- Right-click the image and select Format Graphic.
- Select the Picture tab.
- Click the Conditional-Formula button.
- Enter the following formula in the dialog box: ActivitySystemImagePath ({@CRUFL},'Name of Activity Image')
- Save the formula and click OK.
- If you need to scale the logo down from the original size, use the Width and Height fields in the Scaling dialog box.
- When you finish, save the report.
